To celebrate the birthday of Amitabha Buddha, our temple will be organizing the Amitabha Dharma Service from 17-19 December 2021. We will be transferring merits to ancestors and karmic creditors. May devotees be blessed with wisdom, merit and auspiciousness. Devotees are welcome to join us in this Dharma service.

To celebrate of the birthday of Medicine Buddha, our temple will be organizing the Medicine Buddha Dharma Service on 30-31 October 2021.

We will be offering lights to the Medicine Buddha, we will also be transferring merits to devotees, may everyone be safe, be blessed with merit and wisdom, may there be world peace. Devotees are welcome to join us in this Dharma service.

The meaning of making offerings to the sangha:

1.Making offering to the ten directions, not just to one person. It involves making offering to Buddhism, to the entire monastic assembly, not just one person.

2.Making offering for a year, not just one day. This is to resolve all difficulties for the monastics for the entire year so that he can proceed with his cultivation and duties without further worries.

3.Making offering for the future, not just for the current moment. Making offering should place emphasis on the future, paying attention to nurturing future leaders of the monastery, so that there will be hope for the future of Buddhism.

4.Making offering to those that cultivates the Dharma, not just making offering for the sake of it.

In order to repay gratitude to our loved ones, our temple will be organizing the Emperor Liang Repentance Prayer on 7-15 August 2021. We will be transferring merits to ancestors and karmic creditors. We welcome devotees to join us in this Dharma service.

Light represents brightness and wisdom. FGS PJ SS3 allows the public to make light offerings during Wesak Day. Buddha resembles light, it fills our hearts with brightness and openness; Buddha resembles light, it gives us warmth and reliance. With lights in our hearts, we will be guided to become sages and future Buddhas, to seek perfection and maturity. Light offering raises our faith and improves our confidence.

On 9-11 April 2021, our temple will be holding the Compassionate Samadhi Water Repentance and Amitabha Triple Contemplation Service. We will be transferring merits to ancestors and karmic creditors. We welcome devotees to join us in this Dharma service.

In order to celebrate the birthday of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, FGS PJ SS3 organized the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Dharma Service. In the Universal Door Chapter, the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva undergo 33 transformations to relieve the sentient beings from suffering. In Chinese Buddhism, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva answers the prayers of people seeking for her help whenever she goes, her image of compassion is deeply rooted in people’s hearts, her spirit of compassion is something worth our utmost respect and ought to be emulated by us.

In the past, people that consume Laba congee thinks that it can relieve one from calamity and increase one’s wisdom, thus when it’s the 8th day of December of the lunar calendar, people will go to the temple to consume a bowl of Laba congee.

Till today, branch temples of Fo Guang Shan will prepare Laba congee for the devotees, government departments, companies, businesses to foster relationships. I feel that in future Laba congee can become a cultural heritage.

Maitreya Bodhisattva birthday falls on the first of January of the lunar calendar. To celebrate this special day, the temple held the Thousand Buddhas Dharma Service from 12 -14 February 2021. During CNY, by paying homage to the Buddha, we pray for an auspicious and smooth sailing life.
